One of the most fascinating (and yet least known) parallels between the Mandelbrot-Set and our cosmos is the way in which the past is deposited as sediments.

But the same is true when we look up into the night sky – we take a peek into a past long gone. The further away a star is, the older it’s light is.
The whole history of life, the complete evolution is hidden in our DNA. All genes of all our direct ancestors can be traced back to the first cell.
